The World tarot card symbolizes completion. It is the culmination of all other cards in the deck, as the final stage and last step in a long journey towards enlightenment.
It shows that after much hard work, we are reaping what we have sown. We are seeing the results of our past efforts, and this fills us with great satisfaction.
Success is at hand, and rewards for diligence cannot be far behind.
The World tarot card features a naked woman, surrounded by a wreath, holding a staff in each hand. In the four corners of the card are a man, a lion, an ox, and an eagle. These symbols represent the four elements in Astrology: fire, earth, air, and water.
The World is, in a sense, the card of completion. It represents triumph over conflict and attainment of goals. It means you will come to a successful conclusion to whatever you have been working for.
This is a card of accomplishment and achievement. It is associated with renewal and growth. The World denotes success in work or play, and good health could be indicated as well.
The World is the last card in the Major Arcana, and represents the climax of everything that has gone before: it brings to an end the entire set of possibilities built up in the preceding cards.
It is thus seen as an indicator of material or spiritual success, depending on how it falls in a reading.
There are three basic ways to interpret this card:
The World is a symbol of material success and achievement. It signifies peace, harmony, and the completion of a task.
The World represents completions and endings. Sometimes that means the end of a situation or relationship that has ended in failure.
Other times it represents the end of a phase in your life, an ending before a new beginning. It can represent travel or moving to a new location, marriage or the birth of a child.
It is not always literal though - sometimes a major change will occur in your life that will take you out of your comfort zone and shake up your whole world, so to speak!

Your intuition is clear and accurate, so if something feels right, then it probably is. You may be called upon to lead others out of their own confusion and into their own empowerment.
You are in a position to create more than you ever imagined in your wildest dreams - if only you will remove your self-imposed limits from your mind. This card can indicate a time of great change or upheaval, especially in one’s career or outer life circumstances.
It suggests that new opportunities are about to become available, but only for those who truly deserve them, which usually means people who are willing to give their all toward achieving them. It also can mean changes that go beyond the material world into spiritual expansion on a large scale.
The world around us is changing at an accelerated rate these days as old paradigms are shattered by fresh ideas and innovative approaches toward everything from business to government to religion, family life, health care and education.
We are living with greater uncertainty than ever before as we feel the earth shifting beneath our feet and watch as old beliefs crumble into dust while new ones are yet unrealized in a great void where chaos reigns supreme.
In this uncertain environment we must rely upon our inner compass as never before. It is here that we will find the strength and wisdom needed to successfully navigate through uncharted waters without losing sight of our true path or purpose.
The world card signifies the end of a cycle and new beginnings. It is about fulfillment and satisfaction with what has been accomplished, as well as looking forward to a new start.
In other words, it means that we are in the midst of completion for our lives and a good time to take stock of where we are before we create something new from that place of happiness.
We should not be overly attached or attached at all to our current situation or life. Just because it is working right now does not mean that it will work forever or that it is the best thing for us to do whatever we are doing.
The world card tells us that we need to step back and look at what is truly important in life, what brings us the most joy and happiness, what makes our hearts sing when we think about it.
In short, this card tells us that if something does not make you feel good deep down inside then you should change it or get rid of it. Not only will this bring you happiness but also peace of mind, relaxation and clarity about your future direction in life.
The World is the final card in the Major Arcana. It is usually seen as a positive card, indicating success or achievement, and it’s not surprising that it comes at the end of the deck — in fact, it’s a good omen to see this card when you first shuffle your Tarot cards.
The World card represents harmony and balance, but more than that, it also refers to new beginnings. This is a time for reflection after all your hard work thus far — what have you learned? How do you feel about where you are now?

What’s the best way to deal with a reversed World card? Don’t get upset or give up hope; accept what’s happening as a new beginning, and take advantage of the opportunity presented to you.
If your dreams have been set back, you have a chance to try again—but may have to work harder than you did before. You can achieve success in whatever you choose to do at this time, but don’t get too confident: things could still fall apart even if they appear stable now.
You may be feeling that you have no control over your life right now. It might feel like everything and everyone is arrayed against you. This card can also indicate that you are feeling isolated from others.
The World in reverse means that you have been out of touch with your feelings and needs for quite some time. You may be suffering from an illness or addiction that has been taking over your life and sapping away at your energy.
You may have neglected the needs of those who care about and depend on you. You need to focus on yourself now, get healthy, tend to your relationships, and recover from what has happened in your life up to this point.

The World reversed suggests we need to separate our expectations about reality from who we are. We must accept what is instead of looking only for what we want to find.

A person with his or her back against the wall has nothing to lose but may feel inspired to act according to character despite unfavorable circumstances.
This card when reversed shows a specific type of energy that is blocked and cannot flow freely through a person or situation. This person has been forced into a corner and are now forced to react in a way that is more primal than logical or emotional because they are operating from an animalistic place rather than a civilized one.
They are not thinking clearly and they are only concerned with immediate survival and their basic needs which can lead them into making poor choices because they can’t see past their immediate needs and wants.
In other words, instead of taking time to plan long term moves they act impulsively from fear which can lead them down dark paths and dangerous situations.
The world reversed indicates that the self-centered, financial affairs are not going well. The time is not right to go out and spend. The card reversed indicates that there is a chance for a better future through the hard work of transforming your thinking and getting involved in activities that will bring you joy.
This card signifies the end of an era, a major change in circumstances. It can also suggest a new business venture, or even a new romance. In general, it is associated with upheaval and change for the better.
If you are having difficulties or problems in your career, this means that some of the energy in your work is getting stuck and it is hampering growth. To free up this energy, focus on a recent time when things went well.
Think about how you can recreate these same conditions so that more of this positive energy flows into your world. If you have been working hard in recent weeks but not seeing any results or progress in your business, it may be that there is a financial blockage.
This can be caused by fear or worry and if this is the case then it is often best to take a break from what you are doing and try again later when you feel better.
If the world card is reversed in a reading, it can mean that there are internal or external forces that are taking away your personal power. The card can show that you are not living in the moment and have become disinterested in the here and now.
This can also mean that you feel like your life has come to a standstill. You may be feeling trapped or stuck in a situation where you cannot move forward. This may be due to an unhealthy relationship, job, or lack of resources.
The world reversed also indicates the loss of innocence, which could take place due to illness, death or betrayal. The loss of innocence can occur when abuse takes place as well as when one becomes disillusioned with their beliefs and ideals.
The reversal can also indicate that there is a lack of spiritual growth or maturity within the individual. They may still feel like a child when it comes to coping with life’s challenges and hardships.

Emptiness, worthlessness and sadness are common feelings that accompany this card if it appears reversed in a tarot spread. It is important to focus on being present rather than dwelling on past regrets or worries in order to restore balance into your life.
