You’ve been seeing this guy for a few weeks or months now. You think he’s interested in you, but as time goes on it seems like the more distant he becomes.

Maybe he doesn’t call as much or hangs out with his friends instead of you. He may have even just stopped texting altogether without an explanation.

Whatever the case, here are 10 signs that will help determine if he is really into you and wants a relationship with you:

Most Common Signs He Will Never Make You His Girlfriend

The one thing that every woman wants to know is whether or not the man they are dating will ever make her his girlfriend.

If you’re wondering what your guy’s intention may be, look for these signs he’ll never commit to you:

1. He doesn’t want to commit to plans more than a week ahead of time

If he tries avoiding making plans beyond your next date together, this is a sign that he might not want to make you his girlfriend.

A man who wants a relationship will communicate how they feel about you early on by getting into an open dialogue with you. While talking openly about commitment might seem scary, it is a sign that both of you are prioritizing your relationship.

2. He doesn’t want to meet your family or friends

If he doesn’t want to meet your family or friends, it’s because he isn’t concerned with taking the relationship further than casual dating. He probably just wants attention from you without having any other responsibilities in return.

Spending time with your friends is an important part of a healthy relationship. If the two of you spend more time with his friends than yours, this might be a sign that he is not ready to make a commitment.

3. His texts are brief and non-committal

If you are having trouble deciphering if a guy likes you or not, look at how he communicates. Does his text messages seem short and non-committal?

This could be an indication that he is not interested in pursuing anything more with you. It’s hard to know for sure without asking him outright but these signs point towards the probability of rejection.

When someone likes and wants to spend time with you they will give hints about their feelings verbally or through non-verbal communication like eye contact or hand holding while together.

If you’re getting the feeling that a guy doesn’t want to be in a relationship with you, then it’s time to end things. If he really wanted something more, there would be some indication in his texts.

4. He never asks you to hang out

If this is your situation, there’s a good chance he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with you because he just wants his space and time without having to deal with dating right now.

He might not even fully understand what it means when someone says they’re “seeing” each other, so maybe that’s why he isn’t asking you out on dates or spending more than one night together!

5. He avoids eye contact or is always looking at his phone

He has a hard time staying present in the conversation and makes you feel like you’re talking to yourself.

Another sign that he may not be interested is that he seems preoccupied with something else during conversations, as if his mind isn’t there with you at all.

He can also become agitated and frustrated easily when communicating with him; it appears as though everything bothers him about what you say or how you communicate together.

Whatever thoughts are going through his head right now, they don’t seem to include having a relationship with someone special like yourself.

6. He only contacts you when he needs something from you

The lack of communication makes it clear that this guy simply likes feeding off of your energy for his own benefit rather than actually investing into the relationship on an emotional level.

In other words, if all he does is contact you after work while sitting at home drinking beer by himself, there probably won’t be a future together! It definitely takes two people to make anything work out long term.

7. He doesn’t want to spend time with you one-on-one

If he never wants to spend time with you one-on-one, it’s because even though he likes having fun on a casual basis, deep down inside he values his own independence more than your relationship.

In other words, if he only meets up with you in social settings or at parties that include lots of other people as well, there probably won’t be any future together! You can’t build anything long term without trust and commitment so someone who has no desire to make things exclusive likely isn’t ready for something serious either.

He likely doesn’t call often (or ever) after the first couple dates and hangs out less frequently too.

8. He is always canceling plans at the last minute

If he is always canceling plans at the last minute, this may be a sign that he isn’t into you enough to make time for you in his busy schedule!

A guy who doesn’t want a relationship with you won’t do the little things that show he cares about you.

He will not respect your time or boundaries by canceling plans last minute because he is “too tired,” needs to work late (every night), has too much homework, etc.

He also won’t make an effort on holidays and special occasions as it takes more energy than he actually cares about giving at this point of his life.

A man who wants to be in a long-term committed relationship with you will find ways to give some time even if it requires sacrificing something else for those few hours out of his day that are meant for you alone.

9. He avoids physical contact, like hugs or kisses when you’re in public

When you are together in public he rarely initiates hugs or kisses. If he is avoiding physical contact, this could mean a few different things.

Either it’s because he isn’t physically attracted to you or that your relationship isn’t important enough to the guy for him to even bother with physical touch!

Most likely though, if this behavior has been going on since the beginning of the relationship there just isn’t any real chemistry between you two. Someone who likes spending time with you will want to show their affection all throughout the day.

10. You always have to initiate contact with him

If he’s not calling, texting, initiating plans and showing up consistently - it may be time to re-evaluate your relationship status together.

Whether the guy is having fun playing the field or just isn’t that into you, it is a sign that a man wants nothing more than casual dating rather than a committed relationship.

Before you go any further, take a step back and consider whether or not this is what you want. You deserve to be in an honest relationship with someone who cares about your feelings and desires the same thing as you.

If you are looking for a relationship with someone who is serious about commitment, it will be important to make sure he initiates contact most of the time.

Why men withdraw after intimacy

A guy will only put his time and energy into someone who he wants more from than just sex. It is not uncommon for a guy not to show as much interest as before you hooked up for the first time.

If it feels like you are chasing him down or that your messages always go unanswered then something might be going on here. For example, if you haven’t heard from him since after hooking up for the first time, he might not be ready for a relationship.

Another sign he isn’t interested romantically is if there was no follow-up after meeting each other at some point over drinks or dinner, etc.

Conclusion

While these 10 signs may not be a 100% foolproof way to know if he doesn’t want a relationship with you, they are the most common and give us some insight into his feelings about you.

If you have noticed a few of them and still can’t tell for sure, it might be time to move on from this one.
